Revolt Melbourne is one of a small number of venues around Melbourne taking part in The City of Melbourne’s Live Music Week which, according to Lord Mayor Robert Doyle, aims to do for the local music industry what Fashion Week does for local designers.

Reports released earlier in 2011 have shown that the live music industry injects $500 million into the state’s economy, cementing the importance of live music as both a cultural and economic asset to Melbourne and Victoria in general."We are interested in the performance side, but we are also interested in the venue and industry side," says the Lord Mayor. The council has invested $850,000 into the week, which will enable 170 acts to play across 20 locations.

Revolt Melbourne will present well-known Australian hip-hop artist Joelistics, who was this year nominated for an Australian Independent Music Award for Best Independent Hip Hop Album for the  “Voyager” album. Supported by The Polo Club and Ishu, this free event will be a guaranteed crowd pleaser.

Live at Revolt Melbourne: Thursday 24th November 2011 (Doors open at 6.30pm)
